Chinchilla Christian School History
Chinchilla Christian School belongs to the Christian Education National (CEN) group of schools who are an Australia-wide group of 53 member associations that together govern over 80 schools of approximately 23,000 students and 2,000 teaching staff.
As such it is governed and administered by a group of committed Christian parents and concerned Christian people who wish to see Christian education provided for families in the region including and surrounding Chinchilla. Whilst the school has been established to assist Christian families in the education of their children other families who are willing to support the aims and objectives of the school are most welcome to seek enrolment for their children also.
The school is committed to the education of the total person so as to enable young Christian men and women to take their place responsibly in our world.
God has given parents authority over their children to guide and direct them in the way of righteousness. While parents may invite others (e.g. teachers) to share with them in the nur¬ture of their children, the foremost responsibility and privilege for this nurture always remains with the parents who determine the character and spiritual direction of their children. He calls on children to love, honour, respect and obey their parents in the Lord.
The School is an extension of the Christian home. It is therefore essential that parents and staff work together for the common good of the children.
“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
